とのニュースを耳にする度、背筋が凍ります。
人間という動物は、とんでもない破壊力を持ったものを手にしたとき、
試したくなる生き物だと思うのです。
歴史が証明している通り、人はどこまでも善良であり、
またいとも簡単に冷酷な悪魔にもなる。
そして人間の想像力は、極悪悲惨なことに対しては、
いつも現実に及ばない気がします。
年が明けてから、そんな不安が膨らむばかりで
重たい気分からなかなか抜け出せません。
そういった時ほど、貪る様に本を読みます。
怖くて仕方ないから、先人から答えを求めようとする。
ただ、著名な作家の言葉もよりも、この頃よく思い出すのが
「手を握って、いつもありがとうと言ってくれる人がいる。それが一番」
というものです。
これは、FACEの仕事で「ケアメイト」という東京品川区にある
訪問介護事業の会社様の動画を作らせていただいたとき、
2０代の女性職員の方が話してくれた言葉です。
「手を握って、いつもありがとうと言ってくれる人がいる。それが一番」
とてもシンプルなのですが、生きる上でこれほど大事なことはない、
と改めて思うからです。
世界を揺るがし続けている冷酷な指導者たちは、
あたたかく手を握られ、心の底から、ありがとう
と言われたことが、なかったのかもしれません。

It is hard to get out of such a heavy mood.
At such times, I read books voraciously.
I am so scared that I try to seek answers from those who have gone before me.
But more than the words of famous writers, I often think of the words of a famous writer these days.
"There is always someone to hold your hand and say thank you. That's the best."
That is the best.
